Luigi Restaurant Group Posts 65% Annual Growth, More Than 3 Times the Industry Average

Luigi belongs to the Luigi Restaurant Group, which has grown rapidly in recent years from a single brand into a diversified restaurant portfolio spanning Korean BBQ, hot pot, and dessert concepts, making it one of the fastest-rising names in Taiwan restaurant industry. As of 2024, Luigi has opened 28 locations across Taiwan and successfully expanded into Hong Kong with the launch of Luigi Electric Power Company Hong Kong Power Plant, steadily building its reputation as a Taiwanese success story on the international stage.

According to 2024 data from CRIF Taiwan, the top 10 restaurant businesses in Taiwan posted an average annual growth rate of 21.59% in 2023, while Luigi achieved a remarkable 65%, roughly three times the market average. Behind this string of results lies Wu distinctive brand philosophy, paired closely with a deliberate, sustained digital strategy.

Unlike a growing number of restaurant businesses that rely on centralized kitchens, Luigi continues to insist on butchering meat and preparing dishes fresh on-site every day, ensuring every dish meets an artisan-level standard.

Luigi Chairman Chun-Chieh Wu shares the brand distinctive business philosophy.

Even with this strong emphasis on quality, the operating model has not lost sight of efficiency. To address the challenges of managing multiple locations and complex processes, Luigi has also adopted digital tools to streamline management, freeing the team to focus on elevating the customer experience.

Behind the Successful Service and Digital Transformation: Strong Support From Netron Information Technology

Luigi digital transformation has been powered by two key partners: Netron Information Technology and WeShare Mobile.

“Our core value is growing together with our clients,” said Oliver Wu, General Manager of Netron Information Technology. Through flexible, customizable services, Luigi has been able to efficiently manage a growing portfolio of sub-brands and locations while rapidly expanding, all while maintaining the pace of innovation and market competitiveness.

Netron Information Technology is known for its round-the-clock, 24×7 technical operations support, with clients that include a major airline. For this project, the company implemented an Amazon Q platform built on an AWS foundation, supporting core infrastructure including computation and analytics, and building a highly secure membership system. This ensures that customer personal data collected during membership registration is protected by multiple layers of security, laying a solid foundation for the brand long-term growth.

For example, the system is built to remain stable under heavy load. During promotions or peak traffic periods, when the membership system faces a surge in demand, Netron Information Technology can quickly adjust resource allocation to prevent slowdowns or service interruptions. In urgent situations, clients also have priority access to engineering partners for fast resolution.

Netron Information Technology General Manager Oliver Wu notes that round-the-clock, 7×24 technical operations support allows the company to help brands build highly secure membership systems more quickly and effectively, laying the foundation for long-term growth.

Digital Transformation and Membership Management

WeShare Mobile designed an intelligent membership system for Luigi, supporting its digital transformation and precision marketing efforts while giving members a fresh, engaging way to interact with the brand. For example, through a “marketing wheel” feature, customers who complete a qualifying purchase have a chance to win rewards such as coupons or special menu items, using gamified design to boost customer engagement and brand appeal.

“This does not just create a sense of surprise and delight, it also generates a wealth of valuable customer behavior data,” said Tzu-Hsuan Hsu, CEO of WeShare Mobile. By analyzing data from customer participation in the marketing wheel, the system can segment members by type, tagging them based on purchase frequency, preferences, and purchase history, helping Luigi design more effective marketing strategies.

WeShare Mobile also places strong emphasis on system usability, something particularly important for busy restaurant teams. Wu noted that, working with WeShare Mobile, “from implementation to completing the new membership system took just three and a half months, and the team feedback was very positive. Whether a system is usable and easy to operate matters a great deal, otherwise it does not actually help the business, and can even add to the team workload.”

WeShare Mobile CEO Tzu-Hsuan Hsu notes that the company supports many brands in building apps, websites, and LINE integrations, helping brands strengthen member loyalty through marketing technology and data analytics.

One of WeShare Mobile strengths lies in Hsu ability to simplify complex operations. “The menu functions used to be complicated, requiring many steps to complete a task. Now we handle the calculations automatically and generate the tagging directly, giving clients more room to think creatively about how they use the system, and making it easy to quickly pull up customers who hit a certain first-purchase amount or a certain monthly spending threshold.”

Making tagging intelligent, however, is no simple task. “If 20 out of 100 tags are used frequently, calculating just those 20 still takes significant computing power. Working with Netron Information Technology allows us to pre-calculate different customer segments much more efficiently.”

The successful collaboration between Luigi, Netron Information Technology, and WeShare Mobile demonstrates the significant potential of digital transformation in the restaurant industry. As technology continues to advance, Luigi success story will continue to serve as a benchmark for other brands pursuing digital transformation, opening up new possibilities for sustained business growth.
